Our Story

Rasa was born from a simple belief: that Malaysian food deserves a place on the world's finest tables. What started as a grandmother's kitchen in Penang has evolved into a dining experience that honours the past while embracing the future.
Every spice, every technique, every recipe carries the weight of generations. We don't just cook — we continue a story that began long before us.
"Food is not just sustenance. It is memory, love, and identity served on a plate." — Haris Mursyidi, Founder
Today, Rasa stands as a bridge between tradition and innovation, where the warmth of a Malaysian home meets the precision of fine dining.
What We Stand For
These principles guide every decision we make, from the kitchen to the table.
We partner with local farms and reduce waste at every step. Our packaging is 100% compostable.
We hire locally, source locally, and give back. Rasa is part of the neighbourhood fabric.
Every detail matters — from the grind of the rempah to the fold of the napkin. We pursue perfection daily.
We preserve and celebrate Malaysia's diverse culinary traditions — Malay, Chinese, Indian, and more.
The People
